Opti-MINDS Challenge

On the 22nd August, 2 teams from our school will be competing in the Opti-MINDS Challenge.

This is a challenge in which children further develop their teamwork skills and creativity. They are presented with a choice of three challenges which they must solve and then present their solution in the form of a play.

They are required to create all of their own costumes from recyclable materials as the challenge is also highly into the idea of sustainability. They also need to write a play based around their solution. The challenge is held in 16 different locations around the state, as well as in Western Australia and New Zealand.

Spectators are welcome, so if you’re bored next weekend and want to see how amazing the creative children of Brisbane South can be, hop into Marsden State High School and check it out. It runs from 8.30am until 4.00pm.

On a side note, Mrs Swile (Brisbane South Regional Director), is still looking for 20 people willing to be a judge. Training is provided on the morning of the event. Breakfast, lunch and lollies are provided. The only criteria for judging is the need to be 18 or over.

If you think this would be something you would enjoy, please email Mrs Swile at Please join me in wishing our 2 teams all the best.
