The Performing Arts Excellence program aims to challenge and extend students who excel and have a keen interest in the Performing Arts. Students who are interested in applying and who are accepted into the program will study Dance, Drama and Music. Use of technologies associated with each arts area will be taught and integrated into class work.
Students will be given extra opportunities to further develop their expertise by being involved in the following throughout the year:
Participation in the Performing Arts Excellence class in Year 7 & 8, including the opportunity to specialise in elective strands.
Class productions which will be performed for parents and friends.
Guaranteed involvement in school productions, musicals and Showcase.
Workshops provided by an industry professional and the Creative Arts Department teachers.
Excursions relating to dance, drama and music, to see live performances and performance spaces.
Students in the Performing Arts Excellence Program are expected to participate in one or more of the following extra curricular groups within the school:
How to apply
The Performing Arts Excellence Program runs from Year 7—12. Once students are accepted they will be provided these opportunities every year throughout their schooling at the College. Students are expected to continue to meet the requirements of the program or risk losing their place.
Entry to the Performing Arts Excellence Program will be via audition.
Students who are interested in applying should complete the application form available from the school and follow the submission guidelines. All applications must be received by the advertised date. Limited places are available in the program.
