Get a taste for a future trades career while you're still at school with TAFE Qld's Year 10 Trade Taster Program!
Eligible high school students can try a trade without needing to commit to a full qualification or apprenticeship. The program is designed for students to see if a trade is the right option for the them, or test out a potential career pathway.
Applications open on Thursday 9 March 2023 at 9am. Please read through the FAQs and Application Questions to prepare as TAFE Qld are expecting a high level of interests and large number of applications. A valid USI is a mandatory requirement and this MUST be arranged prior to Thursday - click here to apply.
Education Services will be available to assist with applications from 8.30am ahead of the 9am application opening time.
This program is subsidised by the Queensland Government and is offered at no cost. There will be three intakes this year with each program delivering training to students, one day per week for seven weeks. Throughout the program students get to try three different trade areas as well as having the opportunity to complete their Construction Industry Safety White Card.
Please note:
- you MUST have a valid USI number to submit an application.
- students can only complete one intake.
- applications will be handled on a first in, first serve basis. Similarly, to purchasing tickets to a concert as not all applications will receive an offer of place.
