At Flagstone State Community College, our core business is ensuring that every student, in every classroom, is learning successfully every day.

We are committed to an inclusive education model where every student is valued, respected and supported to participate meaningfully in school life. We believe students achieve their best when they learn alongside their peers, with appropriate differentiation, adjustments and support.

Our Inclusion Team works collaboratively with classroom teachers, school leaders, families and external professionals to support students with disability and diverse learning needs. Our team provides specialist expertise in disability, curriculum access, differentiation, behaviour support, assistive technology and reasonable adjustments.

We work closely with Advisory Visiting Teachers, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Speech Pathologists to identify barriers to learning and develop strategies that support each student's individual needs.

Inclusive Classrooms

Flagstone State Community College uses a co-teaching model, where Inclusion staff work alongside curriculum teachers to provide high-quality learning experiences for all students. Together, teachers plan and implement differentiation, adjustments, targeted interventions and appropriate supports within the classroom.

We believe every teacher is a teacher of every student. Inclusion is therefore a whole-school responsibility, with the Inclusion Team working alongside staff to build teacher capability and ensure students can access and engage with the curriculum.

Our goal is to empower every student with the knowledge, skills, confidence and independence they need to become successful citizens, pursue meaningful employment and participate fully in all areas of life.

Inclusion is not a separate program at Flagstone State Community College — it is the way we do education.
